Snap Mail will sort the User List by either first or last names. It is initially set to sort by first name. If you would like to sort the list by last name, uncheck this preference.
• Request Confirmation When Deleting Mail
If this preference is checked, Snap Mail will request confirmation whenever you try to delete a piece of mail. This is the default setting. You can bypass this confirmation request by holding down the “Option” key when clicking on the “Delete” button. You may uncheck this option if you never want a confirmation request when deleting mail.
• Sort InBox Bottom to Top
This preference is unchecked by default and indicates that the most recently received mail will appear at the top of your InBox if you are viewing your mail by date. If you are viewing your mail by other criteria, the sort order will be similarly reversed.
• Copy Original Mail’s Text to OutBox on Reply
If you would like the text of the message to which you are replying to be copied to the OutBox whenever you use the “Reply” button, check this preference. To temporarily reverse this preference, hold down the “Shift” key when clicking on the “Reply” button.
• Select Original Recipients on Reply
When this preference is checked, your reply will automatically be addressed to the original sender and to all the people who were “To” recipients of the original mail, and “cc”s will be sent to all the people who got “cc”s in the original piece of mail. If this preference is unchecked, the reply will be addressed to the original sender only. To temporarily reverse this setting, hold down the “Option” key when replying.
• Clear OutBox After Send
If you check this preference, after every send your OutBox will be cleared and the previously sent icon will be reselected. You may find this preference useful if you send lots of mail and you don’t want to bother with erasing the OutBox. If you find that you often send mail and then want to send it again to someone else, you may find it useful to uncheck this preference and clear the OutBox manually with the “Clear” button.
• Put Return Receipts into InBox
If this preference is unchecked, return receipts will not be stored in your InBox and will only manifest themselves as alert box messages. If you would like a permanent record of the fact that your mail was read, as well as a copy of the message itself, you should check this preference.
• Mark Logged-Off Users with ◊
Checking this preference allows you to see at a glance whether a user’s computer is on or off. When it is selected, users who are logged off will have a diamond (◊) following their names on the User List. Since you can send mail to a user whether his or her computer is on or not the default for this preference is off.
• Display Recipient List at Bottom of Message
This preference allows you to choose whether you would like the list of a piece of mail’s recipients to be displayed before or after the text of the message.
